Get away this May
The sun has started to shine, the flowers are blooming and there is still time to get to Tresco for one of the best times of year!
The sun has started to shine, the flowers are blooming and there is still time to get to Tresco for one of the best times of year! Below are five of our favourite cottages that will make for the ideal May escape. Whether you're looking to book a last minute surprise for your loved on or feel that your extended family need an excuse to get together, there are plenty of beautiful cottages to stay in...
Coral
Just over the hill and along the seafront from the heart of the island but also on the edge of the north end, Coral is the best of both worlds.
Stroll down the path to discover decadent dinners at the seafront Ruin Beach Cafe, or head in the opposite direction for rugged coastal walks towards two of Tresco’s castle ruins.
Merrick
Family-friendly Merrick is settled just above the white sands of Farm Beach. Sleeping eight, it enjoys sea views and proximity to the shop and spa.
From time to time you’ll even have friendly neighbours in the field next door – the island’s herd of cattle!
Rowesfield
Rowesfield is a sanctuary for those who value peace and privacy. Although the island’s central amenities are just a short cycle away, you’ll feel totally separate from any hustle and bustle.
Shady woodland walks aplenty trickle away from the cottage gate, and Pentle Bay’s beachy bliss is within striking distance.
Green
Cross the road to the echium-lined path onto Green Porth – its white sand stretches from a cluster of cottages at one end to Blockhouse Castle at the other. Follow the watery channels across wet sands at low tide for a paddle.
The Ruin Beach Café is just minutes away – take a coffee break on its glorious sun terrace or enjoy a wood fired pizza for dinner.
Farmhouse
Encircled by lawns and lush, floral borders, Farmhouse is perfect for larger groups embarking on an island adventure.
With views across the Atlantic to the uninhabited island of Samson, it is simultaneously coastal and central. The stores and spa are on your doorstep and the exotic walkways of the world-famous Abbey Garden are just a five-minute cycle from the cottage gate.
