About Tresco

Tresco is a private holiday island in the Isles of Scilly – an archipelago of islands around 30 miles from the Cornish coast.

The island is owned by Robert Dorrien-Smith, whose family have leased the island from the Duchy of Cornwall since 1834. Today, Tresco is a luxury holiday island with timeshare and rental cottages, restaurants, an inn, the world famous Abbey Garden, a gallery, leisure spa, shop and a working farm. Tresco Estate also owns and runs the award-winning Hell Bay Hotel and Crab Shack on the neighbouring island of Bryher.

There is a permanent community of about 130 on Tresco, with about 80 on Bryher. There is a good mixture of young and old, and a strong sense of community on both islands. On Tresco in particular there is a high proportion of young families and the islands are considered a safe and secure playground for children of all ages. Tresco Estate is very much a family-run business and this is reflected in the companionship and teamwork that staff experience in their work.

We offer excellent rates of pay with gratuities and the option of paid overtime in many positions; all our staff are paid at National Living Wage or above, regardless of age. We provide all staff with accommodation and also pay your travel expenses from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly at the beginning and end of your contract period.   • Head Chef at the Ruin Beach Cafe: A unique opportunity for you to come and lead our dedicated team in our award winning, stunning, beach fronted Mediterranean feel restaurant. If you have experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef this is an opportunity to prepare cuisine cooked in a wood fired oven, using fresh produce, on Tresco Island in the beautiful Isles of Scilly.
