Work on Tresco

Our main season runs from early March to early November. Some of our team join us for the whole season, others for a summer stint during uni breaks - either way, it’s an unforgettable experience. For full details, please see individual job descriptions.

We offer a range of staff accommodation - from private rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities to fully self-contained units. Most are just a minute’s walk from the beach, and some even have sea views. We’ll chat through available options during your interview.

Yes - in fact, we really encourage applications from those happy to share accommodation - whether as a couple, or friends sharing a twin room.

We’ll usually get you here on the Scillonian ferry from Penzance, but if you’d rather fly, you can ‘top up’ for air travel - just note the smaller luggage allowance. We’ll cover your travel to Tresco at the start and back to the mainland at the end of your contract.

It depends on the role. Some positions require previous experience, but for many, we provide full training to show you how we do things. Every team member also receives a thorough induction and a warm welcome to island life.

Tresco is a vibrant, welcoming community where life moves to the rhythm of the tides. Many of our team spend their downtime on the water — swimming, paddleboarding, or exploring the islands with free boating, discounted watersports hire, and camping gear to borrow.

For quieter moments, there’s yoga, the subtropical Abbey Garden, and our Island Spa with discounted membership. Evenings often bring beach barbecues, live music at The New Inn, or relaxed community events.

Over on Bryher, life is a little calmer but just as friendly. Staff from Hell Bay and local businesses gather at the pub, hop across to Tresco for the evening, or share a sunset barbecue by the sea. There’s also a shared cricket team and a Pilot Gig club, always happy to welcome new members -no experience needed.

Life here is beautiful and vibrant, but it best suits those who enjoy being part of a close-knit community.

Yes - we’re part of the UK, so most mobile networks work here, though coverage can be patchy in some areas, much like rural parts of the mainland. Vodafone, Three, and O2 generally offer the best signal. Wi-Fi is also available in all staff accommodation.

We know how hard it can be to leave furry friends behind, but unfortunately we can’t accommodate pets for seasonal team members.

To work in the UK, you’ll need to show proof of your right to work. 

For UK and Irish citizens, this usually means a passport (or a birth certificate if you do not have a passport). 

If you’re from outside the UK, you will need a valid government share code. If you are not sure, please get in touch.
