Boating and Transport Administrator

Salary: From £25,000 per annum, dependant on experience
Hours: 40-45 hours over 5 days per week
Contract Length: Permanent
The Role
As part of a small team, you will assist with co-ordinating transfers to and from the island; regularly liaising with boatmen, Isles of Scilly Travel, Penzance Helicopters and Tresco's island transport team.
Administrative tasks will include updating daily boating schedules, processing information for bookings, arrivals and departures, and dealing with customer transport queries in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times. You will be required to be proficient in communicating with guests via email, phone, and face to face. Daily banking duties will also be a central part of this role, as well as taking customer payments.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Will easily learn new computer software and be fully competent in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- Must have excellent customer service skills and a pleasant, professional telephone and email manner
- Should be a confident and efficient problem solver who can understand the impact of tides and weather on boating
- Willing to work weekends and longer days at peak times
- Good at working as part of a small team in a close office environment
- Ability to multitask
- A knowledge of the islands is advantageous
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing)
