Following the success of the inaugural Scilly 60 broken ultramarathon in 2023, the challenge returns...
The original Scilly 60 event on Sunday 16th June will see racers cover 60km over five islands, running every inch of the coast path on every inhabited island making up the Isles of Scilly archipelago.
The catch? They’ll transfer between the islands by ferry, and any runners not on the boat before the stated cut-off time are left on the island and cut from the race. The cut-offs are harsh; in 2023, the dropout rate was 65%.
New for 2024, Friday 14th June sees the Scilly 60% - a (very slightly!) easier 40-kilometre trail run keeping to the principles of the original event but across a smaller distance, covering four islands, and with slightly more generous cutoff times.
