Overseas Staff

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

There are things to note if you are from overseas looking to work in the UK

National Insurance Numbers

Everyone in the UK over the age of 16 requires a national insurance number. This is a personal number issued to you by the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK.  It is used by your employer to deduct tax and national insurance contributions from your wages.

If you arrive on Tresco/ Bryher without having been issued a National Insurance Number we will arrange for you to be interviewed in order to be registered for a number.

Bank Account

You will need to open an account with an English Bank as soon as you can to enable us to transfer your wages to it for the duration of your employment with us.   There are two banks, Lloyds and Barclays on the island of St Mary's where you will be able to arrange this if necessary.
