We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly Heliport team in a management role. Tresco Heliport is predominantly engaged in handling the scheduled passenger service that operates between Penzance and Tresco, Isles of Scilly.

The Role
In this management role, you will lead our heliport operational team with strong leadership skills, ensuring adherence to Heath and Safety standards and compliance with CAA regulatory requirements at all times. Reporting to the Heliport Accountable Manager, you will ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
There will be customer-facing duties required such as checking in passengers, handling luggage (up to 20kg) and assisting with embarkation and disembarkation from the aircraft.
You will have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff and guests, both new and returning, in order to continue the first class standards of service across the island.
Handling and inspection of vehicles such as fire vehicles, tractor and trailer, and 10-seater electric buses will be required, with any defects to be reported to our Engineering department.
Risks will need to be identified and mitigated in a timely manner, ensuring you remain accountable for your actions and remaining compliant with regulations.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Full, clean driving licence (essential)
- Experience in leadership/management (essential), ideally with an operational aviation background
- Experience of Aerodrome Health and Safety
- NEBOSH qualification and Incident Command experience desirable
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work well as part of a team
- Must be confident driving large vehicles
- Must have a high standard of fitness (a medical assessment is required)
- Fire Service Experience (in line with CAA Category H2 airfield standards) is desirable, although full training can be provided
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance advantageous
- First Aid Certificate advantageous
- Be flexible, with a can-do attitude, as the role will sometimes require working subject to weather changes and delays
