Over the last few months, Jon from Scarlet Wines – our favourite little West Cornwall wine merchant – has been working his socks off to pull together an exceptional collection of wines, handpicked with Tresco in mind.
From the fruity Australian Goldfields Shiraz to the fresh Italian Mirabello Pinot via the delicate La Vielle Tour Rosé de Provence, Jon really has given us the pick of the bunch.
Jon and his team at Scarlet Wines not only hand pick the wines; they also deliver them direct to Penzance Quay, meaning no more courier catastrophes leaving you high and dry on your arrival on Tresco!
For his fellow Tresco devotees, Jon has done all this at generous prices that will compare favourably with any wine club, and delivery right to your cottage is included.

When the sun is shining, what could be better than a chilled white? Mind you, this selection would taste great whatever the weather…
Ca di Ponti Grillo (Italy) - Full-flavoured, rounded white with bags of character; fantastic value for money. A honeyed, floral and spicy nose with hints of ginger and stone fruit. Ripe,. sun-dried citrus characters on the palate with savoury notes and a creamy texture.
Vina Zielo Maccabeo (Spain) - A fresh, simple everyday drinking qwine. It's madec from a Spanish grape called Macabeo. It has flavours and aromas of citrus, melon and soft almond and floral notes.
Primordial Soup White (South Africa) - Cracking Cape blend alive with firm, fleshy fruit. Jasmine and white stone fruit nose, nuanced citrusy palate and tangy finish.
Mirabello Pinot Grigio (Italy) - A versatile, textured PG with lovely fruit. A fresh dry white with gentle floral and citrus aromas. Crisp and delicate on the palate with lightly honeyed fruit balanced by lemon acidity and a fresh, dry finish.
Condorito Sauvignon Blanc (Chile) - This dry and crisp wine has fresh tropical fruit aromas and flavours of gooseberry and lime with grassy, herbaceous notes.
Goldfield Chardonnay (Australia) - Juicy, sun packed Australian wine with peach and tropical fruit on the nose. The palate keeps up the exotic theme with refreshing peach and pineapple notes with some crisp lemon acidity on the finish.

Vina Zielo Garnacha (Spain) - Bright juicy plum and blackberry aromas. The palate is soft and easy-drinking with cassis, plum, bramble and cherry characters. Supple tannins create an appealing finish.
Primordial Soup Red (South Africa) - A rich blend of the Western Cape's classical cultivars, packed with juicy life. It has a nose of creamy summer pudding and a palate of crushed cherries with a cranberry tang and texture.
Ca di Ponti Nero d’Avola (Italy) - Deeply coloured, full-flavoured, spicy red with aromas of wild plum and blasck cherry accentuating savoury, liqourice characters. The palate combines dark fruit flavours with lightly smoky notes and a hint of bitter chocolate.
Condorito Merlot (Chile) - Intense aromas and flavours of ripe plums and sweet spice, with subtle notes of cinnamon, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with a soft and smooth mouthfeel.
Goldfields Shiraz (Austalia) - A great example of an easy drinking, fruity red made from the Shiraz grape. It has lots of rich plummy and red berry aromas and flavours along with a bit of spice and pepper.
Tesoro de Los Andes Malbec Bonarda (Argentina) - Delifghtful expression of big bambly Malbec. Appealing nose; mixed spice, bramble fruit bomb followed by dark, damson and savoury overtones on the palate.
The pick of the bunch. This little set is perfect for any time of year but we think these crisp whites, refreshing rosés and rich reds just ooze summer on Tresco…
Domaine Roman Gris de Gris (Provence Rosé) - A delightful expression of Grenache Gris, this is fresh and impressively softly textured. It is clean and refreshing with delicate strawberry and cream notes and good acidity.
La Vielle Tour Rose de Provence (Rosé) - Delicate with lovely sweet fruit from varietal Grenache grapes. The nose is perfumed with pretty ripe berry characters. On the palate it is soft, pleasantly fruity, fresh, juicy and savoury. Proves why Priovence Rosé is just so enjoyable.
Les Grands Presbyteres Muscadet (France) - Crisp, flinty notes with a hint of lemon on the nose. The palate has fresh, zesty, savoury bites with hints of green apple along with yeasty lees notes. Classic Muscadet.
Cloud Factory Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) - Clasically bright and vibrant Marlborough Sauvignon. Perfumed with ripe tropical fruits which are also evident omn the palate along with limey flavours and a rich minerality. Classic Marlborough Sauvignon in other words!
Le Fou Pinot Noir (France) - Fuller than Pinot Noir from Burgundy, it has a warm, rich nose with aromas of ripe cherries. The palate is nicely balanced with an exciting, savoury bitterness that keeps it fresh and interesting.
Boutinot Cotes du Rhone Les Coteaux (France) - Brambly fruit underpinned with subtle oaky nuances. Lovely sweet spice; warm star anise with a touch of cinnamon. This is classic Cotes du Rhone Villages, pure pleasure.
