Racket Town Reimagined
A new chapter for a beloved Tresco cottage...
After a transformative renovation over the winter of 2024–25, Racket Town emerges anew, thoughtfully reimagined to embrace its tranquil, rural roots while embracing the elegance and ease of modern island living.
Nestled amid gently rolling pastures and tucked away on a quiet lane, the cottage now reflects the landscape that cradles it: peaceful, grounded, and endlessly inviting.
Although it feels deeply private - almost hidden away - the beaches, Island Spa, Tresco Stores, and the Flying Boat Café & Deli are all just a few minutes' walk from the door of this cottage that offers a seamless blend of comfort, style, and tranquillity.

A Space to Unwind and Gather
Cross the threshold and you’ll step into an airy, open-plan living space where light spills in from all directions, and the calm of the island seems to settle immediately around you. The once-traditional layout has been opened up to create a spacious heart to the home, where the kitchen, dining area, and sitting room flow seamlessly into one another.
It’s a space designed for both quiet mornings and sociable evenings: cook, read, dine, and share stories as the day drifts by. Expansive patio doors draw your eye to an almost Rainforest-esque view of Tresco's remarkable shelterbelt of trees across the lake, inviting the outside in and offering a constant reminder of the surrounding beauty.
Whether basking in sunlight or curled up with a book by the log burner on an autumnal afternoon, the space feels equally serene.

Calm Bedrooms, Thoughtful Details
Laid out on a single level, the cottage’s three bedrooms offer restful, sun-washed spaces to retreat to at the end of the day. Each room enjoys views of the surrounding garden or countryside, bringing the outside in and gently reminding you of the world beyond the windows.
The master suite is particularly special, with an en-suite bathroom with rolltop bath and elegant patio doors that open directly onto the sun terrace - perfect for early morning coffees or stargazing before bed.
The two additional bedrooms each benefit from sleek, understated shower rooms, offering privacy and ease for families or friends travelling together. One also opens directly onto the terrace, allowing for a quiet escape into the garden with a book or a breath of fresh air.

Gardens, Sunshine, and a Sauna with a View
Outside, nature takes centre stage. Generous gardens extend on two sides of the cottage, designed to catch the sun from first light until the long, golden evenings. A west-facing terrace offers a comfortable spot to enjoy a glass of wine as the sky begins to blush, while the south-facing lawn and sun deck are perfect for lingering afternoons in the warmth.
For those seeking deep rest and quiet, a private outdoor sauna is nestled discreetly among the greenery - offering a serene place to unwind, accompanied by the wide, uninterrupted views that stretch across the fields and gently toward the sea.

A Hidden Gem with the Island at Its Doorstep
For all its sense of seclusion, Racket Town never feels far from island life. It’s a haven for those who value tranquillity but also enjoy the freedom to wander and explore.
Step beyond the garden and you’re immediately immersed in nature, with winding woodland paths inviting you to explore Tresco’s hidden corners. Just a few minutes’ stroll brings you to the island’s beaches - soft, golden, and often blissfully empty - perfect for a morning swim, an afternoon laze, or an evening wander as the sun begins to set.
A little further along, you’ll find everything you need for island living: the soothing calm of the Island Spa, the well-stocked Tresco Stores, and the friendly welcome at the bar of the The New Inn.
This is Racket Town reborn - a quietly secluded retreat where the indoors flow gently into the landscape beyond, offering a deep sense of peace, space, and connection to the natural beauty of the island.
