Some of the people you will hear from
From farmers and beekeepers to yogis, gardeners and artists, the Isles of Scilly is rich with talent and below are just a few of the people sharing their passion throughout the festival
Graham and Ruth Eggins
Having now farmed Tresco for a year, Graham and Ruth will be on hand throughout the week to share their insights and plans. With a lunch talk at the market garden, a cattle farming discussion, an immersive meal at The New Inn and a creative workshop, you can meet our island farmers in a multitude of ways
James Strawbridge
Chef and sustainability fanatic James Strawbridge will be joining us on the beach to kick off the festival. Tuck into a delicious flat bread on the sand and sip a cup of tea or something a little stronger
Gemma Pearce
Based on St Mary's, Gemma creates calming and meditative works of art designed to reflect the Scillonian landscape and bring one a sense of peace. Join her for a creative workshop in our seafront studio and leave with your own unique interpretation of the Autumn shoreline
Henry Birch
Born and raised on Tresco, islander Henry is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to his home. Gather beneath the iconic portraits that hang in The New Inn and learn about the characters that have made Tresco what it is today
Alasdair Moore
Head of Estate and Gardens Alasdair will be on hand throughout the week to share a range of subject matter from gardening to smuggling. Join him at the Valhalla Figurehead Museum for a spot of rum, in the Garden Cafe for an insight into the life of the garden team, or at The New Inn for a delectable evening showcasing the best of Tresco produce
Will Wagstaff
Will is our resident ornithologist and will be leading a tour of Tresco from the water. Hop on the Firethorn with him and learn more about the rich history and wildlife of this special island
Where to stay
There are still a handful of cottages available throughout the festival so book yours now to avoid disappointment. From cosy School House to seafront Lobster and the serene Samphire, there are some beautiful bolt holes ready to host you and your October adventures.
Come alone, with friends, or with family for what will undoubtedly be a glowing week full of Autumnal delights. And with the spa and the gardens at your disposal, there is no better way to see in the winter.
