Organised by island beekeeper and wildlife enthusiast Jilly Halliday, this fantastic prize has been gifted to the cause and all money raised will go towards the protection of our Tresco Plovers.
Every summer, these beautiful birds flock to our shores and their protection is paramount as populations have dwindled in the last few decades. The small birds nest on the beaches and are vulnerable to rats, birds, dogs and human footfall so this money will go towards better signage, beautiful island-made cages and improved awareness for these special creatures.
