I love the way the tides send us gifts of sea glass or of shells or faded starfish. I like to think of the shoreline as a receptacle of treasure which is always on the move. All of the treasure gives an extra dimension to the sands and I love to feel that the seaweed has travelled from island to island. Some of these paintings were started in February 2020 when I was painting on Tresco just as “lockdown” was about to hit, so I think of the work as a little part of history!
