This magnificent Sea Garden cottage is a stone’s throw from Old Grimsby’s idyllic shoreline. Also on its doorstep are tennis courts, an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna.
This beachy escape has marine-themed hints throughout, from shelves of sea treasures in the master bedroom, dinner plates adorned with painted lobsters and mackerel, and graduated shades of blue across fabrics, furnishings and the exposed beams in the open plan lounge and dining space. Featuring three double or twin bedrooms, plus a separate TV room with sofabed, Driftwood is an ideal base for a family escape.
The cottage is set amongst an array of colourful blooms in our Sea Gardens, at Old Grimsby. Stroll across the lawn to Tresco’s iconic crab seats and spend a tranquil afternoon watching the waters of Old Grimsby harbour. A sunny lunch on the Ruin Beach Café terrace is a must – the seafood sharing platter is exquisite!
The long stretch of kitchen, lounge and dining space leads you through to glorious picture windows at the end, with transfixing views across to Blockhouse Castle.
Lobby area, right to TV room with double sofa bed, left in to open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area with high beamed ceilings. Two steps down to large patio with stunning sea views towards St Martins and the Eastern Isles then three steps down to lawn and onto communal paths towards beach. Right from lobby into corridor, WC, family bathroom, twin bedroom with sea views, master bedroom with two steps down to seating area and sliding doors to patio with sea views, en suite shower room, twin bedroom.
I looked across a neat lawn bordered by pink flowers to a swaying sea. Waves fizzled softly on boulders in the cove. The Times
