Dining at The New Inn
Our traditional island inn, rustling up pub favourites with a delicious Tresco twist in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Coronavirus Update - 1st June 2020
The New Inn is currently closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We currently hope Tresco - including The New Inn - can reopen on 4th July 2020, but this is subject to the lifting of government restrictions. We will only open when it is safe for us to do so.
Inevitably, Coronavirus will mean some temporary changes to our offering at The New Inn. The New Inn will reopen when the rest of the island is able to open, offering lunch and dinner with a reduced seating capacity, and table service. We strongly recommend booking. Dine in the Driftwood Bar or our beer garden overlooking the harbour. Enhanced cleaning measures will be in place and menus will be accessible from your own phone or tablet.
We will also be offering a takeaway Fish & Chips service each evening from 5 pm if you'd rather dine in your accommodation or on a deserted beach.
We’re also unveiling a new popup takeaway from The New Inn pavilion every day from 9 am. Drop in for picnic essentials from the bakery and deli, as well as Scillonian ice cream. Keep an eye out for more details...
For further details of the changes you'll find across the island, please see our Coronavirus Update.
The information below is general information on The New Inn and may not reflect the current offering under the temporary Coronavirus restrictions.
Dining at The New Inn
The New Inn is at the heart of the island community, adorned with wreck wood and marine relics and filled with visitors and locals throughout the year.
The food offering at the New Inn focuses on relaxed dining and traditional pub fare using as much locally grown, reared and landed produce as we can get our hands on.
Expect to find Bryher crab mac & cheddar, Cornish mackerel burgers, and baked Salakee Farm duck egg on the menu, all complemented with daily-changing specials making the most of seasonal ingredients.
Relax in an armchair with a coffee, prop up the Driftwood Bar with the locals, soak up the sun on the sheltered terrace, or enjoy occasional live music in the beer garden, dancing the night away under the stars and the shimmering festoon lights.
