Valhalla - Alessandro Il Grande 1851
This distinguished-looking figurehead is in fact Tsar Alexander I and was taken from the wreck of a wooden brig of 289 tons. On New Year's Day 1851, her cables parted and she was blown on to Mare Ledges, not far from Valhalla, off Tresco's southern shore. There was no loss of life.
