Maintenance Supervisor - Hell Bay Hotel

Department: Hell Bay Hotel
Salary: From £12.60 per hour, dependent on experience
Benefits: Accommodation and all meals provided
Hours: Full time, 2 days off per week
Contract Length: Seasonal, March-October (dates can be flexible)
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to assist the maintenance manager to action all hotel maintenance requirements, ensuring high standards of functionality, efficiency, and safety throughout the property.
Regular maintenance will be required on sewage systems, the swimming pool and plant room, as well as general gardening to keep all outdoor areas well-maintained. Guest facing duties will come into play, with some assistance transporting guests and luggage to and from the hotel and the quay.
There will be some liaison with our wider Services team on Tresco when required, as well as meeting the freight boat and transporting deliveries to the hotel. Assistance with waste disposal and some on call evening shifts to assist with portering and urgent maintenance will also be a vital part of the role.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Experience and qualifications in a similar role (essential), including exposure to electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry etc.
- A hands-on, can-do person with an eye for detail
- Able to prioritise conflicting demands and allocate budget accordingly
- Full, clean driving licence (essential)
- Tractor and telehandler experience is desirable
- Welcoming and helpful with friendly customer service
- Able to quickly pick up new skills in a new environment
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work well both individually and as part of a larger team
- Good communication and people management skills
