The Cottage
This is a cottage for those who want to feel tucked away in nature. Surrounded by woodland and a generous garden, it has a soft, countryside character that feels worlds away from everyday life.
The island’s longest beach is less than five minutes away on foot, perfect for shell-hunting, picnics and slow days on the sand, while the Abbey Garden and central island amenities are an easy walk or cycle away.
Inside, Pentle House is relaxed and spacious, with a generous open-plan kitchen and dining room overlooking the greenery. A hidden staircase leads to the upstairs bedrooms, while the sitting room offers a cosy retreat, framed by garden views and warmed by a log burner on cooler evenings. Downstairs, an ensuite master bedroom gives a little extra privacy, with three further bedrooms and a family bathroom upstairs.
Outside, the garden is the cottage’s quiet treasure: a leafy haven of mature planting, open space and birdsong, watched over by a striking Norfolk Island pine. It is the kind of place where breakfasts drift into lazy mornings, children disappear into games on the grass, and evenings are best spent lingering outdoors after a day by the sea.
Peaceful, private and full of understated charm, Pentle House is a true woodland hideaway - close to the beach, but wrapped in the calm of Tresco’s quieter, greener side.

Facilities
Our cottages are well-equipped with a comprehensive inventory, which includes kitchen appliances and equipment, bathrobes, hair dryers, and an outdoor BBQ with tools. Bathrooms come complete with 100 Acres shampoo, body wash and hand soap.
This property comes equipped with a dishwasher. There is no washing machine at the property, however laundry facilities are available centrally with a small cost payable per load.
Very comfortable, well equipped, fantastic garden, lovely seclusion.

Pentle’s rural surroundings make it perfect for those wanting a quiet escape. Tresco’s longest beach and the cottage’s namesake, Pentle Bay, is under five minutes away – spend days shell-hunting and picnicking on its golden sands.
The Abbey Garden is a short stroll or an even shorter cycle from the cottage gates, whether you’re looking to explore its well-populated terraces or just stop at the Garden Café for a good cup of coffee.
