Mincarlo

This is a cottage with the best of the island close by. Tresco Stores, the Bike Shop, Spa, pools and Flying Boat Café & Deli are all within easy reach, while two nearby beaches give you plenty of choice for morning swims, sandy wanders or low-tide adventures. Yet for all its convenience, Mincarlo still feels open and peaceful, looking out across the west coast towards wide skies, moving water and the twin peaks of Samson.

Inside, the cottage is warm, comfortable and wonderfully easy to settle into. The generous living space has room for everyone to gather, with a large corner sofa, family dining table and an electric coal-effect fire for quieter evenings in. The homely kitchen keeps things simple and sociable, whether you are making beach picnics, feeding children after the pool, or settling into supper after a day outdoors.

Mincarlo sleeps eight across four bedrooms, including a bunk room that works especially well for children. The master bedroom is usually arranged as a superking, with the second and third bedrooms as twins; all three are zip-linked and can be arranged as superking or twin by prior request. Two bathrooms make the cottage practical for families or friends sharing.

Outside, the secluded patio is a lovely sheltered spot for golden afternoons, barbecues, a quiet drink or a moment of calm while the day drifts by. Close by, the peaceful track along the edge of the Great Pool leads to bird hides overlooking the water - a gentle reminder that, even from this central setting, Tresco’s quieter wild places are never far away.
