This is a cottage for those who like to begin the day slowly. Step out onto the patio with an early coffee and watch the first light move across the reeds and water, with the established trees of Abbey Drive on one side and the greenery of Middle Downs on the other. The view is quiet, open and ever-changing - birds moving through the Pool, light shifting over the water, and the gentle rhythm of Tresco’s countryside unfolding below.
Inside, Heron feels bright and easy to live in. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is triple-aspect, so light moves through the space throughout the day, creating a warm and sociable heart of the cottage. From here, the layout flows towards a generous master bedroom with ensuite, a second bedroom and family bathroom, before rising up a high-ceilinged staircase to the third bedroom tucked beneath the beams.
That upstairs bedroom is one of Heron’s loveliest surprises, with a picture window framing far-reaching views across the Great Pool - a quiet place to pause, read, or simply lose yourself in the meditative stillness of the water and surrounding trees.
Heron sleeps six, with a king master bedroom and two further twin rooms, both of which can be arranged as superking or twin by prior request. The two bathrooms, including one ensuite, make the cottage practical for families or friends sharing.
Though Heron feels peaceful and nature-wrapped, everyday island life is wonderfully close. Tresco Stores is just a minute or so from the patio, while the Island Office, Bike Shop and indoor and outdoor pools are all nearby. Whether you are heading out for a swim, picking up something for the barbecue or wandering down towards Flood Hatch beach, everything feels easy from here.

Our cottages are well-equipped with a comprehensive inventory, which includes kitchen appliances and equipment, bathrobes, hair dryers, and an outdoor BBQ with tools. Bathrooms come complete with 100 Acres shampoo, body wash and hand soap.
This property comes equipped with a dishwasher. There is no washing machine at the property, however laundry facilities are available centrally with a small cost payable per load.
The Location
Heron benefits from glorious views across the Great Pool, framed by the established treescape of the Abbey Drive on one hand, and lush woodlands of Middle Downs on the other.
The cottage is steps from an outdoor pool (open May - September) – rack up some early evening lengths or devour a book on one of the surrounding sunloungers.
If you need an extra bottle of wine while the barbecue is sizzling, no problem, as Tresco Stores is a minute’s walk from the patio.
