Scilly Shoal
It seems our island school children are budding artists and some of their work is now proudly on display on Tresco
Artist Jo Hague visited Scilly in April 2024 and she spent a week working with the staff and students at Five Islands Academy. She specialises in sustainable textile design and encouraged the off-island school children to use reclaimed and recycled materials from our shores to create art.
The result of their work was Scilly Shoal. Made up of old fishing net, buoys and plastic found on the beach, it has hung on St Agnes for the last year but has recently traversed over the sea to Tresco. Next time you are passing the stores and walking to the spa or the flying boat, keep an eye out for the installation!
