Life on Tresco is about taking each day as it comes, monitoring the weather and seeing where the wind takes you. We like to stress the importance of avoiding itineraries and remaining relaxed in order to sample the best of island life. Sometimes the best moments are those you didn't expect to experience. However, throughout the season, there are some more scheduled events and experiences that you won't want to miss and, thanks to our events calendar, it is extremely easy to get a snapshot of what to expect during your holiday dates and combine that relaxed island feeling with organised holiday fun!

Boat & Watersports Hire
Hop on a boat and journey across the water to Bryher for dinner with a difference. You can make a booking at Hell Bay Hotel, The Crab Shack, Fraggle Rock, Island Fish or Olivia's Kitchen and the boat times are advertised on the Tresco Boats page the day before - no need to book the boat.
A few times a year, we are honoured to invite touring theatre companies to the island to delight us with dazzling stories and hilarious characters, made all the more special by island scenery either at the gardens or on the sea garden lawn.
The Isles of Scilly inspires creativity in many different ways and our regular Makers Markets are testament to that. Join the local potters, jewellery-makers, sewers and printmakers along New Grimsby seafront at various dates througohut the summer.
We are blessed to have a range of local experts on hand who share their knowledge all year round in the form of informational walks. Join Will Wagstaff for all things flora and fauna, Dr Katharine Sawyer to uncover the secrets of Tresco's past, and Kate Hale for the tragic and dramatic history of Bryher's shipwrecks.
Join our gardeners in the glorious gardens after hours to learn about the rich history and plant life of this special space. Take in the splendour of golden hour and sample a Tresco Gin and Tonic or two on the terrace.
With regular morning and evening classes from a range of island practitioners, there are plenty of opportunities to take time for you. Practice morning yoga in the Abbey Garden or end the day with a soul-soothing sound bath - bookings can be made directly through teacher booking sites linked on our website.
Every Wednesday and Friday the local gig crews take to the water for weekly gig races and you can hop aboard the Firethorn to watch the action. Cheer on our Tresco & Bryher crews and witness what is always a fantastic spectacle!
Throughout the year, our island pub is filled with live music from a range of performers. From islands bands to acts from further afield, the terrace always fills with dancing shoes and they are not nights to miss! See who's taking to the stage whilst you're here...
Take to the water with Tresco Boats on a high speed jetboat wildlife trip or a slower Firethorn seals and birds trip. Register your interest with the Tresco Boats office and they will get in touch when weather and tide allow for the best experiences!
