Salary: From £12.40 per hour, dependent on experience
Benefits: Accommodation and all meals provided
Hours: Full time, 2 days off per week
Contract Length: Seasonal, March - October (dates can be flexible)
The Role
We’re seeking a hands-on candidate to help maintain the grounds of our small island hotel. You’ll be responsible for trimming hedges and mowing lawns, as well as pruning and weeding flower beds, borders and paving areas.
Gravel and patio areas will need to be maintained to a high standard, including the swimming pool and the pitch and putt green.
Some assistance to the Maintenance Manager will also be required, to help with general upkeep around the hotel; some practical maintenance experience could be advantageous.
The role will include some guest facing duties, including greeting and transporting guests from the quay up to the hotel and assisting with luggage.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Relevant gardening experience
- Able to work on own initiative and enjoys a challenge
- Ability to develop and landscape small areas as required
- Ability to use and maintain petrol mower and strimmer (essential)
- Have a clean valid driver’s license (essential)
- Good customer service skills are required as there may be some interaction with guests
