Firefighter Ground Crew
We're looking for a new heliport ground and fire crew member, helping handle our scheduled helicopter passenger service into Tresco Heliport.

Reporting to: Heliport Manager
Salary: To be discussed at interview dependant on experience.
Hours: Full-time and flexible
Contract Length: Permanent
Start date: November 2024
Duties Include
- As part of the team, handling the scheduled helicopter passenger service between Penzance and Tresco/Isles of Scilly
- Carrying out day to day maintenance of the aerodrome, heliport building & fire appliances
- Checking in passengers
- Loading and unloading luggage
- Assisting with aircraft handling and supporting passenger transport on island
Our Ideal Candidate
- Fully competent firefighter trained to standards in line with CAA Category H2 airfield (training can be provided -covered by a two-year commitment to the role)
- Good communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Enjoy working as part of an effective team
- Full clean driving licence is essential
- Competent in driving large vehicles such as fire appliances and 12-seat electric buses
- Previous fire service or Aerodrome Safety Management Systems experience is desirable
- Qualified First aider
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Happy to work in a flexible environment, responding to changes and delays due to weather and other factors
