Set across from the island’s church, the white-washed walls of Thatch and its quintessential cottage-esque appearance are unmissable. Thatch enjoys a rural spot just minutes from Old Grimsby’s idyllic beaches.
A low-ceilinged living and dining space with log burner adds to the traditional nature of Thatch – continue through into a cosy kitchen overlooking the garden. The breakfast bar invites you to pause for your morning coffee, contemplating which Tresco coastline to explore that day. A quirky, open staircase takes you to two second floor bedrooms. Just across the path is a separate annexe set off the road with calming country views from its doorstep.
Situated in pretty Dolphin Town, Thatch is short walk to the Ruin Beach Café – embrace the holiday spirit and treat yourself to an afternoon cocktail. The sweeping white sands of Green Porth will prove irresistible – early risers might catch a breath-taking Tresco sunrise from its white-sand shores. A little further along the coastline is Blockhouse Castle – clamber up its tall stone steps for an epic vantage point overlooking Tresco’s easterly neighbours.
Walking the tree-lined roads leading to and from Thatch, listening to bird-song, and becoming completely encapsulated in Tresco’s peaceful tonic.
