Lucy Pratt

Lucy Pratt has the remarkable ability of being able to transform whatever she chooses to paint, into imagery which is refreshingly vital and colourful. Her work always appears to express her immediate spontaneous joy in painting the subject. She is able to communicate this admirably with her use of great colour combinations and well-designed pictures. Thus we are all able to participate in the experience, leaving us with memories of breathing in lovely fresh air and knowing that it is good to be alive!

This series of paintings comes from her recent residency last November on Tresco. Early rises and continuous exploring of this island led to these vibrant oils ranging from beach and coastline to the Abbey gardens. All begun plein air or from drawings then finished in the studio.
