Creative Scilly: Poetry for Wellbeing
An invigorating and creative opportunity to explore how you can express yourself through poetry.
Suitable for beginners or experienced poets, the session will embrace raw materials and the elements to provide unexpected inspiration, with the sea as our muse.
An optional sea swim will activate our inner artist and add sensory elements to our poems.
This session will take place outside, so please dress appropriately. Bring writing materials (pen/paper/phone/laptop). If you wish to participate in the sea swim, please bring swim kit (swimwear, towel, warm clothing).
The workshop is open to all, exploring poetry inspired by nature and wellbeing. There will be lots of fun, creative exercises allowing participants to free write, compile poetry, and enjoy chatting about their experiences of sea swimming.
Workshop leaders are poets Polly Roberts, Ella Walsworth-Bell and Ruth Eggins, representing the Morvoren Project - a collaborative sea swimming and poetry project which allows the voices of women who swim in the sea in Cornwall to be heard and their stories told through poetry.
