October Half Term Activities
Things may not be quite as normal this October half term, but there's still plenty to keep the whole family entertained throughout...
In addition to the activities below, don't forget that during your stay on Tresco you'll enjoy access to Tresco Abbey Garden and the Island Spa, as well as hundreds of acres of family-owned island to explore - the perfect playground for the young (and young at heart!)
Hire a bike, head out for a walk and explore the island's history, or enjoy a game of tennis on our island courts (remember to bring your own racket, and do book ahead).
Island Hopping with Tresco Boats

Jump aboard with Tresco Boats for an island-hopping adventure. Discover a different island each day, or enjoy a sightseeing or wildlife trip (weather dependent) and explore Scilly's beautiful natural and historic environment.
Boat times and destinations change daily depending on the tide and weather, so keep an eye on the Tresco Boats website for details.
Watersports with Sailing Scilly

The weather in October can be as calm and balmy as a summer's day, and while we're not pretending it's always like that, if the weather is fit, Tresco Sailing Centre will be open this half term!
The centre - next door to The Ruin on Tresco's sheltered eastern coast - will be open by appointment throughout half term, offering hire of kayaks, SUPs, sailing dinghies and small motorboats, depending on the weather.
They can also offer sailing lessons by the hour, as well as marine life trips, RIB blasts and fast water taxi service between the islands in their Endeavour RIB.
Please note: The Sailing School will not be manned on a daily basis, so you'll need to book ahead - click below. You will also need to bring your own wetsuit (due to obvious recent events!)
Paint the Day - on a Mask!
On Wednesday 28th October, get ready to paint a mask! Collect your mask and sanitised art materials from Smith Square and find inspiration for your masterpiece during a day of exploration around the island.
Once you are satisfied with your completed attempt, return your artwork and materials by 4pm for judging. The results will be announced on the Tresco Island Facebook page. Entrants are judged by age: children 0-8 and 8-16 years.
A Garden Treasure Hunt

Grab your checklist from the Garden entrance and head off for a treasure hunt around the pathways, terraces and ruins of the Abbey Garden!
From plants to sculptures, see if you can tick everything off the list as you explore the far reaches of our 19th-century garden!
Fitness with Amelia Mills
Join invigorating beach HIIT and circuits sessions, or take on a personal training class with fitness enthusiast and qualified personal trainer Amelia Mills, all in the inspirational setting of Tresco Island.
Throughout half term, Amelia is available for private or group sessions. For further information and to book, click below.
Yoga

Indulge in some time for yourself this half term and let Tresco's blend of yogic practice and island escapism calm your mind and restore positivity and relaxation.
Bryher islander Gem Hansen will be offering classes during the half-term week in the calming retreat of the new Flying Boat Studio, overlooking New Grimsby Harbour, Tresco Channel and the neighbouring island of Bryher beyond.
Mats are provided and thoroughly sanitised between classes, but you are also very welcome to bring your own equipment. Classes will need to be booked in advance - for details please see our Yoga pages.
