For this summer’s exhibition I have painted several of my favourite places on Tresco – Pentle, Appletree and views of St Martin’s and St Mary’s from some of the island’s many breathtaking vantage points. Time and again I find myself drawn to the glorious wild
flowers and grasses that flourish on the islands from earliest Spring until late in the Autumn. The vibrancy of honeysuckle, gorse and agapanthus against the aquas and blues of Tresco waters is stunning.
With this theme in mind I have included a painting of a particularly glorious bank of late summer daisies framing a view of St Ives Bay just across the sea in mainland Cornwall.
