Over the past few years on my visits to Scilly I have been drawn time and time again to the North of Tresco, the area known as Castle Down. It is a place I feel deeply akin to in its proximity to the edge of the islands and the Atlantic air – a threshold to a wilderness. Its mystery is in its apparent emptiness, it is a mottled surface spreading out to the sky and beyond. All the work here was produced from a visit to Tresco in November 2008. |
