The majority of the guests who stay with us live in the United Kingdom or quite often come from the Channel Islands but recently we have been welcoming those from further a field. This year we have had guests from France, Germany, Sweden, Australia and especially the Netherlands. We sold a jar of our homemade jam the other day to a lady who was taking it back to South Africa – she was obviously not too worried about her luggage allowance!

This week though it was time for the Italians! This is actually very rare for us so we were very happy indeed to welcome such enthusiastic and friendly company – dare I say ‘The Perfect Guests’!The Italians are famous for their passion and the gift of expressing themselves plus their love of beautiful things and their fondness for wonderful gardens and each of these guests were in awe of Tresco and the islands.
They made the most of every minute of their stay and let us know how much they enjoyed the experience. They simply had a wonderful time and were so appreciative of their surroundings, their accommodation, the food and the friendliness of the staff and locals. They are truly our favorite hotel inspectors to date!

These were three unrelated bookings all overlapping; I’m sure the other guests, at breakfast time, where wondering if they had woken up on Sicily not Scilly! We had a couple from Lake Garda, one family from Rome & another family from Milan! I expect this increase in bookings is due to the internet, our wonderful new website and the ease to book on-line or that simply the secret of Tresco and the Isles of Scilly IS OUT!

There is an island of uncompromising beauty, hidden away from the tourist's gaze. An island with a temperate climate and beautiful sea - a secluded haven of hills, rocky coves and sandy bays.

A place where you can laze on a deserted beach, rejuvenate in an exclusive spa, sail on sparkling seas, walk the rugged coastline or just relax in the world-renowned Abbey Garden.

The island is Tresco. It's only 28 miles off the Cornish coast and you could be here soon.

Alternatively, stay at the award-winning Hell Bay on Bryher recently listed in the Sunday Times Travel Magazine's Top 100 hotels in the world.
