Tresco Marathon
In aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Tresco Marathon was the brainchild of Peter Hingston and Philip Callan. Peter's daughter Jade suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Peter and Philip decided they would like to run the London Marathon and raise money for the Trust, however work commitments made this impossible so they decided to start their own.
Every year since it's conception the Tresco Marathon has been run on the same day and at the same time as the London Marathon. 2008 event is on Sunday 13th April.
The total raised over 8 years now exceeds £450,000.
The Course is certified by the South of England Athletics Association and is the full 26 miles 385 yards.
The event brings together enthusiastic islanders and holidaymakers, who marshall the runners and administer refreshments along the way.
